Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026 · Data controller: Pixels by Triaxis BV (BE 0568.727.430)
This Privacy Policy explains how Pixels by Triaxis BV ("we", "us") processes personal data in connection with the MID Convert website (this site), the separate licence portal at license.midtech.be, and the MID Convert software licensing process. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.
1. What data we process
| Website visits | Basic hosting/server logs from our hosting provider (Vercel) — IP address, request timestamp, and user agent — retained only as long as needed for security and abuse prevention. This site does not use marketing/advertising cookies or trackers. |
| Purchases | Handled entirely by Polar.sh as merchant of record. Polar collects your name, billing address, VAT number (if applicable) and payment details directly — we never receive or store your card details. Polar shares with us only what is necessary to issue and support your licence (e.g. order reference, email address, activation code). |
| Licence portal & activations | The separate licence portal (license.midtech.be) stores your activation code and the machine identifiers your licence is bound to, so we can enforce the seat count of your licence. See that portal for its own operation details; it is covered by this same Privacy Policy as it is operated by us. |
| Support contact | If you contact us by email, we process the contents of your message and your email address only to respond to you and for our own record-keeping. |
2. Why we process this data (legal basis)
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — issuing and supporting your software licence, processing your order via Polar.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — accounting and VAT/BTW record-keeping obligations under Belgian law.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — keeping our website and licensing infrastructure secure, preventing licence misuse and fraud.
3. Who we share data with
Polar.sh (payment processing and merchant of record), Vercel Inc. (website and licence portal hosting/infrastructure), and, where a project uses it, blob file storage provided by Vercel for installer downloads. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share your data with advertisers.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers (e.g. Vercel, Polar) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as required under Chapter V of the GDPR.
5. Retention
We retain purchase and licence-related data for as long as your licence is active and thereafter for the period required by Belgian accounting/tax law (generally 7 years for invoicing records). Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your request and for our records.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability, subject to the exceptions provided by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
To exercise any of these rights regarding data we control, contact us using the details in our Legal Notice. For data held by Polar as merchant of record for your purchase, you may also need to contact Polar directly.
7. Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any strictly necessary technical cookies used by our hosting provider are limited to what is required to serve the site securely.
